dick clark productions to Produce "The Weird Al Show," A New Children's Saturday Morning Series for CBS
Burbank, California (February 6, 1997) dick clark productions, inc. (Nasdaq: DCPI) has received a commitment from CBS for 13 episodes -- a full season's order for children's programming -- for a new Saturday morning, half-hour comedy show for children.
"The Weird Al Show" is an upbeat, fast-paced children's show featuring "Weird Al" Yankovic, who portrays an inventor living in a secret subterranean workshop. He is joined by a stream of visitors, ranging from playful characters ranging to celebrity guests to his pet hamster. "Weird Al" Yankovic is best known for his Grammy-award winning musical parodies.
The series is scheduled to begin on CBS in late Summer for the 1997/98 season.
