Here you will find all the references to
the number 27 on episodes of "The Weird Al Show." If you found a
27 I missed, please
e-mail
it to me.
Thanks.
Never heard of the connection between "Weird
Al" and the number 27? Well, from
the "Weird Al"
Frequently Asked Questions, here is the connection.
First of all, this amazing number in Al's life was first discovered
by "The Midnight Star", when somebody asked Al if the number 27 in
the "Like a Surgeon" and "This is the Life" video had some certain
special meaning. Al hadn't actually noticed this number in the
beginning. His final reply: "Twenty-seven is a pretty funny
number."
And thus a new age was born, Twenty-seven. Soon after that, the
staff, readers, domesticated animals, and twenty seven kitchen
appliances started noticing more and more occurances of the number
"27." It was amazing! It was surprising! It was mediocre, even!
Every where we looked, another "27" popped into Al's life.
There's a 27 in the album "Bad Hair Day." In the song, "Callin'
In Sick", the first line goes: "Hit my snooze alarm for the 27th
time..." In the latest album, "Running with Scissors," there's
another 27 reference! Al is wearing the number 27 on the cover.
Now, David Rossi posts "The 27 List" to
alt.music.weird-al on the 27th
of every month. To get the latest version take a look at:

And from Carlotta Barnes, from the former Midnight Star:
The 27 stuff goes far beyond what's on Al's albums, videos, etc
-- and to me the non-"official" stuff (where 27 has shown up
related to Al & the band in some way VERY coincidentally) is the
interesting part! For a couple of years now the Midnight Star
has listed 27 sightings in almost every issue, but offhand two of
my favorites are:
Al being assigned dressing room/trailer #27 at a festival in 1993
(Bermuda kindly took Al's picture as Al posed in the doorway
pointing to the big number 27 on the door, and sent it to the
Midnight Star for a cover photo)
The video collection Alapalooza being the 27th top selling video
last year (as reported by a surprised Bermuda).
As I said, there's been a column for 27 sightings in the
newsletter for a year or so, and already there are lots more to
report in future issues.

Episode #3601: He Ain't Heavy, He's My Hamster At the end of the show, Al says, "Brush your teeth 27 times a day!
Episode #3602: Mining Accident There are no 27s in the show, but the show first aired on September 27, 1997.
This episode repeated on both December 27, 1997 and June 27, 1998.
Episode #3603: Bad Influence The only reference occurs during the safety video. A paper on a billboard says, "Woodrow Wilson Elementary School. 27 days without a papercut."
Episode #3604: Promises, Promises During Al's infomercial, the number to call is "555-0127."
Episode #3605: Back to School During the commercial for the Know-It-All Correspondence School, Albert Einstein is shown in front of a chalkboard. One of the mathematical equations behind him has a 27 in it. The equation looked like this: Episode #3607: Because I Said So There were no direct references to the number, but Al sang 9 songs. And 9 is, of course, 2 + 7.
Tri/Omen pointed out that 27 is divisible by 9.
Episode #3613: The Obligatory Holiday Episode Right at the beginning of the show, Al says, "Hey! where is everyone? They should have been here 27 seconds ago!"
